Therapy Services

I work in a person-centred style with clients, and tailor the therapy to fit with what works for them at the time. I draw on a number of therapies including but not limited to compassion focussed therapy (CFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), and attachment theory.

Therapy will begin with an assessment of the current difficulties. I will then work on a formulation with the client, which is a visual map of what is happening for them at that point in time, drawing on their past social, cultural, or relational experiences. Then, with the client, I discuss how and what therapy may look like for them.

I offer therapy on Microsoft Teams and have limited availability for in person sessions in Sale Manchester. Please get in touch for prices for private funded patients (you are paying yourself) as there are concessions available.  I am registered with a number of insurance companies so if you have private medical insurance, let me know as therapy can possibly be provided through this.

Difficulties I can support with

My approach

Clinical psychologists are trained across the lifespan, meaning we work with infants up to older adults. I am trained to work with a wide varying of mental health difficulties, ranging from mild to severe and common difficulties include:

  • Depression/ low mood
  • Anxiety including panic attacks, generalised anxiety disorder and social anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Interpersonal difficulties
  • Shame
  • Identity and self esteem
  • Stress
  • Grief/bereavement
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Personality disorder

Whilst most people seek therapy for a specific difficulty, therapy can also be used to enrich an already fulfilled life. You may want to explore more about yourself, your relationships with others or the world around you.

Area of Specialty

I am passionate about improving care and access to psychological support for families following perinatal loss and throughout their subsequent parenting journey. I have experience of working with parents (individually or in a couple) in an obstetric led clinic alongside midwives as well as in a NICU, so have knowledge of complications or medical conditions which make pregnancy/parenting really tricky. I am also aware of charity support available if this is more suited to a client than individual therapy from a clinical psychologist.

I have also worked with more general bereavement in groups and individually so if this is something you are finding difficult, then  please get in touch.
